Science Biome Project
You will be working to create a Google Slide/poster about the ecosystem that you have been assigned. Your Google Slide/poster should be presented in a bright, colorful, and interesting way. You need to include both pictures and written explanations about each aspect of the project.
You must cover the following:
1.A general description of your ecosystem (location, general climate)
2.The organisms that exist in the ecosystem. You must include an example of a food web AND a food chain from your ecosystem. Label the organisms in your food chain and web as to whether they are producers, consumers, or decomposers. These must be created by hand, NOT copied from the internet!
3.How does your ecosystem support the organisms that live there? Think about temperature, soil composition, amount of light available.
4.How have humans affected your ecosystem – reduction of habitat (cutting down trees), pollution, increasing nutrients.
Be sure to include your sources so I know where you found your information.
Here are some resources that you may find useful:
Information about all the major ecosystems on the planet = very
useful! Type in the name of your biome:
Word Wildlife Fund
Kid-friendly information about all the different biomes of the
world.
Kids Do Ecology website
Information about the different biomes that exist on Earth
World Biomes
If you type in 'Ecosystems' on the Webpath Express search, you will get a whole host of websites with information specific to the different ecosystems you are studying.
